This year at the Geneva Motor Show and Jaguar’s booth, the spotlight is on the new XFR-S Sportbrake, a powerful super wagon. If you look behind that car though, you see an innocuous XF that looks substantially different than the normal version of the mid-size car. That’s the new Jaguar XF R-Sport.
The R-Sport is in fact a new styling package Jaguar has come up with for the XF sedan, and it consists of redesigned front and rear bumper with a touch of sport, new chrome detailing, side skirts, 17-inch wheels, and a couple of exclusive badges. The interior is upgraded too, with suede upholstery and Dove stitching, which can also be had in red or tan.
Jaguar XF R-Sport package is available for both the sedan and Sportbrake estate version of the XF, and can be had with the optional Black Pack. At launch, the package can only be ordered for the XF 2.2 liter diesel model, which is only available in Europe.
The R-Sport package then is sort of an incentive to attract more buyers to the XF diesel. It’s a great car economy-wise, but it lacks the effortless performance you’d expect from a sports sedan.
