Peugeot is probably not the first name that springs to mind when you think about exquisite coachbuilding work. Nevertheless, the weird looks of the Peugeot 508 RXH fascinated the Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Castagna and they decided to give it a bespoke treatment.
The result is this one-off two-tone Peugeot 508 RXH wagon crossover thingy featuring a magnificent blend of chestnut and burgundy for a paint job. The exterior is also garnished with a good amount of black chrome accents on the front grille, headlights, roof rails, and windows surrounds.
Peugeot 508 RXH by Carrozzeria Castagna also features fender extensions that are there mainly to complement the two-tone effect, and also accommodate the 19-inch wheels borrowed from the RCZ coupe.
Inside the cabin, Castagna’s 508 features burgundy leather upholstery combined with British tweed accents, and green and grey Alcantara on the dashboard. It looks rather sophisticated, but not very pretty. A special teak wood treatment for the boot complete with Peugeot logo in the middle wraps up the work.
As for the technicalities, Peugeot 508 RXH by Carrozzeria Castagna is identical to the standard car, which means it is powered by a diesel-hybrid system developing 200hp and 450Nm of torque. It also benefits from four-wheel-drive system, which makes the average fuel consumption rating of 4.2 liters per 100 km all the more impressive.
