Previewed a while back in a design sketch, the 2014 Renault Traffic van now breaks cover, revealing a fancy new design which is going to give van drivers a friendlier face. The new Traffic boasts improved practicality, and also a new 1.6 liter diesel engine.
The new engine will be available in two versions, one with a single variable geometry turbo and the other with a twin-turbo system. The latter is a bit pricier, but manages 47 mpg. Variants of this torquey diesel could be used for Renault’s sedans and hatchbacks, offering better performance and fuel economy.
With the 2014 Renault Traffic, the French automaker had plenty of room to implement a refined version of their new corporate look at the front of the vehicle. So it features a humongous front grille, which in combination with the unique headlights and the signature air intakes in the bumpers make the Traffic instantly recognizable as a Renault.
2014 Renault Traffic shares some of its underpinnings, and also the base of its design, with the new Vauxhall Vivaro. Official specs like cargo volume and performance figures are yet to be revealed.
