Chevrolet released the pricing details of latest versions of their iconic Tahoe and Suburban SUVs. The 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban start from $45,890 and $48,590 respectively, which is a lot considering they are not exactly the last word in luxury, refinement, and off-road capabilities.

The fact is the Tahoe and the Suburban are actually woeful SUVs. But they are hugely popular in the U.S. simply because of the way they look. These giant living rooms on wheels are the favorite of the U.S. government’s many agencies. People are actually scared of these cars, and that is just about the greatest feature a car can have!

No wonder then that Chevrolet and GMC share almost 74 percent market share of the large utility segment, with Tahoe as the segment leader. The 2015 version of the Tahoe and Suburban not only benefit from updated design, they are packed with new safety and technology features, including connectivity services.

They also come with improved aerodynamics, a quieter interior, and a new direct-injected EcoTec3 5.3L engine. It is mated to a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission, featuring TapShift control, Tow/Haul mode and Auto Grade Braking, for easier trailering. Tahoe has a maximum trailering rating of 8,600 pounds (3,900 kg) and  Suburban has an 8,300-pound (3,765 kg) rating (2WD models).
