This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will see the world’s first gathering of four generations of Toyota LMP1 Le Mans race cars. The lineup will include TS010 and TS020 from the 90’s, the TS030 hybrid car from 2012, and the brand-new Toyota TS040 Hybrid, which will make its debut ahead of the 2014 WEC season.

Details of the TS040 race car are yet to be revealed, but like the car that went before, and the other major opponents this season from Audi and Porsche, it is a hybrid. The performance of the new car will be shown off by Toyota Racing driver Anthony Davidson as he takes on the Goodwood hill.

The other Toyota Le Mans racers at Goodwood will also be an interesting display, especially the TS010, which campaigned in the 24-hour race in 1992 and 1993. It was succeeded by the TS020, better known as the GT One, which was among the first computer designed race car, boasting a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and a 600bhp twin-turbo V8 engine.

Along with the Le Mans giants, Toyota will also display at Goodwood the Pike Peak racer TMG EV P002 with a 470hp electric motor, and the Imperial Toyota Hilux that netted a class victory and fourth place overall in this year’s Dakar Rally in South America.
