Ford took the wraps off the sedan version of the hugely popular Focus a few days prior to its official debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show. Joining the Focus three- and five-door hatchback and wagon, the four-door sedan will increase the Focus’ market share even further, especially in China.

2015 Ford Focus Sedan is not just a hatchback with a boot attached to it. The car gets its own styling details, including a restyled hood and grille, signature LED lighting for headlamps and taillamps, new rear lamp clusters and a restyled trunk lid. It does, in fact, look closer to the Fusion/Mondeo than the Focus hatchback.

The car will also get an advanced interior packed with high-end materials, like satin chrome detailing, and advanced technologies, including MyFord Touch, rear view camera, available Blind Spot Information System and a lane-keeping system.

As you’d expect given the success of the thing, 2015 Ford Focus will be available with the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine with a six-speed manual transmission. The award-winning engine combines smaller-displacement engines with turbocharging, direct injection, variable valve timing and proprietary Ford software. So despite its frugality, it is actually quite good fun to drive.

Another highlight of the Focus sedan is the availability of a SE Sport Package, which includes new body treatments, paddle shifters (requires automatic transmission), a revised touring suspension, 17-inch black gloss aluminum wheels and P215/50 HR-17 tires.

2015 Ford Focus Sedan will be unveiled in New York along with a new Focus Electric. It will be launched in the U.S. later in the year.
