Chevrolet announced the launch of a luxurious High Country version of the Silverado 2500 Heavy Duty truck. Formerly available only for the 1500 models, the High Country treatment adds lots of premium features to the rugged capability of the 2500 and 3500 HD modes.
The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty High Country models are easily distinguished over the standard version by the virtue of their chrome grille with horizontal bars, and body-color front and rear bumpers, 6-inch tubular chrome assist steps, 20-inch chrome wheels (17-inch in 3500 HD with dual-rear-wheel), and High Country badges on the doors and tailgate and High Country logos on the door sill plates.
The interior is also enhanced to High Country level, with heated and cooled perforated premium leather front bucket seats with High Country logos on the headrests, and Chevrolet MyLink connectivity with an 8-inch touch screen, Bose premium audio and front and rear park assist. Sunroof, navigation system and a rear-seat entertainment system are optional.
Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty High Country models are GM’s answer to the new Ram Power Wagon, only they make up for its weaker performance with luxury. Still, it’s not like the Silverado HD is a slouch. You have the option of choosing between a 360 horsepower 6.0 liter V8 and a 397 horsepower 6.6L Duramax turbodiesel.
