Following the huge success of the Ford Fiesta ST in the British market the car maker announced the launch of a new ST3 version, offering a lot more equipment than the standard ST. The Fiesta ST3 is built in response to demand for a higher series model.

Priced at £19,250, Ford Fiesta ST3 comes with the following extras: Keyless entry; Sony DAB radio/CD with navigation system; Cruise control; Automatic headlights; Rain sensing wipers; Auto-dimming rear view mirror; Power-fold door mirrors with puddle lamps; and Electronic automatic temperature control. The only optional extra is rear parking sensors, costing £250.

Mechanically, Ford Fiesta ST3 is the same as the normal models, boasting a 1.6-litre EcoBoost 182PS unit with six-speed manual transmission. It accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 6.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 139mph. Official fuel economy on the combined cycle is 47.9mpg with 138 g/km Co2 emissions.

The car is one of the weakest of the hot hatches in the market today, but it is close to two grand cheaper than its main rivals, and offers a much more satisfying driving experience. No wonder then since introduction last year, Fiesta ST has sold more 6,250 units and snatched 25 awards.
