It is customary that car makers celebrate social achievements like Facebook milestone with special editions or at least a one-off model. But Rolls-Royce apparently couldn’t be bothered, so they only sent out a thank you letter to mark reaching 2 million fans on Facebook.

It is a special letter though, written personally by Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer of Rolls?Royce Motor Cars. In it he wrote: “Thank you to each and every one of you who has helped us reach a landmark two million fans. Through Facebook we can share sneak previews, bespoke insights and captivating stories from the Home of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars with you, wherever you are in the world. I am excited to be sharing the journey with you!”

Rolls-Royce Facebook page was created in 2010 and it to broaden the appeal of the brand and bring it to a new and contemporary audience. The popularity of the brand gradually grew worldwide, especially with the launch of the Ghost. One million of those two million likes were recorded in the last 12 months.

What is interesting about Rolls-Royce’s Facebook performance is the fact that India has the greatest number of RR fans, then Pakistan, and then United States. It could have something to do with the fact that at some point all these countries were subjects of Britain!
