British sports car maker Trident announced today the launch of its new Iceni sports car, a bio-diesel-powered speed machine that can reach a top speed of 190 mph and run for 2000 miles on a single tank of fuel. The car uses an exclusive technology to achieve this called torque multiplication.

Notwithstanding the fact that if this technology was a viable solution big time car makers would have thought of it sooner than Trident, it is a fantastic achievement that not only delivers more power beyond the capabilities of the best diesel engines, torque multiplication increases fuel efficiency by up to 20%. Trident, of course, remains tight-lipped about the technical details of their patented technology.

Available in two Magna (fastback) & Venturer (estate) variants, the Trident Iceni features a unique, retro sort of design that brings the mind certain TVR models. Unlike most other cars made by small firms that use parts they find in trach bin of other factories, Trident says the Iceni incorporates over thirty-nine bespoke, designed & manufactured components, including independent control of each car seat and oculight roof.

They also offer a bespoke service for Trident Iceni through which you can tailor the car to your desired specs. With such performance and economy numbers, and the limited availability, the £96,000 starting price sounds like a right old bargain.
