A new limited edition version of the Fiat Punto is now on sale in the British market, called the Jet Black 2. It’s kind of a big name for a car like the Punto, but it lives up to that name by featuring lots of black stuff. This car is quite possibly the coolest £12,000 hatchback you can buy today.

So let’s see what makes Fiat Punto Jet Black 2 tick. For starters, the car comes only as a sporty three-door and only in Crossover Black metallic paint. What’s more, it gets tinted rear privacy glass and smoked, 12-spoke, 17-inch alloy wheels.

But that’s not all for the exterior, as the treatment also includes body-coloured side skirts and a matching rear spoiler, as well as front fog lights; special side stripes and a tailgate logo.

Moving inside we find Fiat Punto Jet Black 2 is fitted with leather steering wheel and gear knob; automatic climate control and cruise control, plus rear parking sensors; adaptive cornering fog lights; five airbags and voice-controlled, Blue&Me Bluetooth multimedia connectivity – not bad for a 12 grand car.

Mechanically, Fiat Punto Jet Black 2 is based on the 77hp 1.4-litre petrol model, which isn’t something you would call spritely. But it does get sport suspension which should improve handling.
