Finally Jay Leno releases his video review of the McLaren P1, which he bought after a short test drive in the UK a few months ago. Before he delivers his verdict on it, Jay wanted to drive the car for a while, and so now after putting about a 1,000 miles on it, he is ready to let us know what it’s like.

So here’s your long-awaited McLaren P1 review by Jay Leno. He is joined by McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt who came down to the garage to talk us through the car and his visions for the incredibly successful company. Jay’s P1 is the first in the United States.

You learn pretty much what you need to know about the McLaren P1 from this terrific video. But as a recap, here’s some facts and figures about the car: The powertrain is made of two parts. You have the 3.8 liter bi-turbo V8 engine as the main source of power, and an electric motor supplied by a battery pack that acts an auxiliary propeller helping the big engine. Together they make around 916bhp, which is enough to take the P1 form rest to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds, and on to a top speed of 217 mph (limited).

McLaren P1 costs around 1 million Euros if you can squeeze an order in at the factory (it’s sold out), and something in the neighborhood of 1.8 million Euros second-hand.
