Over the years we have seen some pretty significant cars at Jay Leno’s Garage. They either belonged to the man himself, or brought over by celebrities, car companies, or museums. This time Petersen Automotive Museum brings something that blows everything else in the garage out of the water – Steve McQueen’s 1956 Jaguar XKSS.

As special as a Jaguar XKSS would be on its own – what with it being a vintage race car that was built to take to Le Mans, win the race, and bring you back – this car is all the more special since it was the property of the king of cool, Steve McQueen. Apparently, he bought this car twice, and twice had his license suspended for driving it.

Jay is joined by experts from Petersen Museum and the author of McQueen’s Machines book. Together they talk you through the interesting details of the car’s and the history behind it. Steve McQueen’s 1956 Jaguar XKSS is a multi-million dollar museum piece, but it’s kept in fully functional condition and is regularly serviced so it runs perfectly.
