As part of the Volkswagen family, SEAT was obligated to come up with a special and interesting concept car to spice up the annual Worthersee GTI meeting where VW fans come together to party and talk VW. This is what they’ve come up with, an open-top two-seater called SEAT Ibiza Cupster.

Besides being a Worthersee tribute, SEAT Ibiza Cupster also marks the 30th anniversary of the Ibiza model which is one of the most successful products of the Spanish car maker. As the name suggests, the Cupster is a Cupra-Speedster. To make it they chopped off the roof of an Ibiza hatchback.

The front-end of the car is standard Cupra with a big SEAT grille, LED lights and large air intakes. At the back though we see some modifications including a tail spoiler, central tailpipe, and two huge buttresses behind the roll bars that cover the empty space where the boot and the rear seats used to be.

The best feature of the SEAT Ibiza Cupster is the wraparound windows combined with a small windscreen, all of them tinted. Being a Cupra means the car is powered by a 180 horsepower 1.4-liter TSI engine.

More on this car, Audi A3 Clubsport, and Skoda CitiJet at 2014 Worthersee. As always, Volkswagen themselves will turn up with a special GTI concept, which is yet to be revealed.
