Spain may have a richer culture and a history ten times longer and more profound than that of Dubai, but the fact is they are simply not rich enough. In fact, they are almost broke. The reason we brought that up is because the Police force in Madrid has recently acquired some fast cars, and, well, they are not super cars. They are not even sports cars.

What they are is Renault Megane RS hot hatchback. Before you mock, we have to point out the Megane RS is a pretty fast car and works much better in the narrow streets of the capital city than all those wide and low super cars. And they are the new 2014 model, which means they must have really strained the budget.

Madrid Police Renault Megane RS is the coupe version which is handy, as it means there is no way for the apprehended criminals to make a run for it while the officers aren’t looking. The front doors, meanwhile are reinforced with Kevlar to at least slow down incoming bullets, if not stop them altogether.

Powering the Renault Megane RS Police car is the standard 265 horsepower four-cylinder turbo engine that makes possible accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds. The officers are going have loads of fun patrolling the city in this car.
