It’s a little known fact – probably because it’s not very interesting – that 119 years ago Skoda used to make bicycle. The reason we brought that up is because that helps explaining why they have now launched new limited edition versions of their Yeti, Octavia and Superb, called Tour de France.
Skoda Tour de France celebratory models mark the first three stages of the cycling event taking place in the UK. As you’d expect, these models come with a bunch of bicycle-inspired features and gears, designed to appeal to cycling fans.
So you can count on ‘le Tour de France’ badging, waterproof seat covers and bike wheel bags. What’s more, each Skoda Tour de France car comes with centenary edition of the Rouleur Tour de France book and a competition entry to win a VIP Tour de France experience.
The range starts with the £23,490 Yeti TdF, which boasts Amundsen satellite navigation system with DAB digital radio, Keyless Entry and Start System, floor mats and an internal bike rack. Next up is the £28,490 Superb TdF, featuring all Yeti equipment plus a space saver spare wheel and boot net programme. Lastly, there is the £24,290 Octavia TdF that gets all of the above, plus roof bars and a roof-mounted bike carrier.
Each Skoda Tour de France is limited to 198 units.
