Ford’s Special Vehicle Team has dispatched a crack team of elite operators to the Nurburgring. They are tasked with the job of beefing up the 2015 Ford Mustang in order to create an SVT version, possibly the GT350 variant, to be launched in 2016.
Nobody knows for sure what sort of specs the 2016 Mustang SVT is aiming at, but judging by the noise this thing makes at the ‘Ring, the horsepower figure is going to be seriously fat. It comes from a supercharged version of the 5.0 liter V8 from the Mustang GT.
Besides more power, the 2016 Mustang SVT also features a bespoke styling kit, hence the camouflage in this footage. The main purpose of this kit will be aerodynamic concerns, which is why it includes a massive splitter, chunky side skirts, and a big rear diffuser. But it also has profound effect on the way the car looks. And that is more important than the aerodynamics!
