Celebrating the arrival of the first McLaren P1 in Jakarta, the company’s Indonesian representatives hosted a track day event for their clients, at the end of which they unveiled the P1 and sent it out for a couple of celebratory laps. As a bonus, they also pitted the P1 against a Lamborghini Aventador in a friendly drag race.

The result of this drag is kind of obvious, sine the power difference between the rivals is 216 PS. But still, this beautiful video by Speed Creed Media is definitely worth a spin:

The 700 PS naturally-aspirated Lamborghini Aventador managed to stay with the 916 PS twin-turbo hybrid-V8 McLaren P1 during the first few seconds of the race. But once the P1’s turbos find their groove, with the power of that electric motor backing them up, the gap starts to get bigger and bigger. Another interesting point is that the Aventador costs $300K USD, while a McLaren P1 will set you back at least $1.3 million.
