Porsche Cayman vs BMW M235i 600x305 at Evo Track Test: Porsche Cayman vs BMW M235i

It is a great time to be alive if you are a fan of sports cars thanks to machines like Porsche Cayman and BMW M235i. These are affordable, usable, fairly practical cars which also have awesome track capabilities and the ability to put a huge grin on your face. But which one is better?

That’s a question Evo is going to answer by taking them both to the Blyton Park race track. In a way, the Porsche Cayman vs BMW M235i is a battle between a pure sports car (Porsche) and a factory-tuned coupe with high-performance bits and bobs (BMW):

The Cayman in this test is a 2.7 liter base version. Naturally, a 3.4 liter Cayman S would be a more suitable rival for the M235i with its turbocharged straight-six engine. But it’s not just about the power. It is how you can use that power, and how much joy you can deduce in the process. And, of course, there is the issue of the price.
