Ferrari headquarters in Maranello is a regular destination for celebrities visiting Italy. Yesterday they played host to two of the most prominent names in the movie industry, George Lucas and Samuel L. Jackson. The director-producer and the actor enjoyed a tour of the facility and met with Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo.

As the creator of the Star Wars films, George Lucas does not strike anybody as a Ferrari kind of guy. Samuel L. Jackson, on the other hand, is the kind of guy you can imagine daily driving a LaFerrari. The man’s 65 and still a total bad ass! Just watch him here doing his Pulp Fiction speech on the Graham Norton show:

Whether or not George Lucas and Samuel L. Jackson have ordered new Ferraris remain a mystery. Ferrari is very good at keeping secrets. Nobody knew about the one-off TRS they’ve been developing for a customer, or Jay Kay’s green LaFerrari, until they were ready for delivery.

“I have always been a racing car enthusiast and interested in car racing and for me, Ferrari is the sports car par excellence,” said Lucas. “I’ve admired them since the end of the Sixties, it’s something special that’s been in my heart since I was a kid. For me, Ferrari is synonymous with excellence. To innovate means knowing how to look at the world in a different way, using one’s imagination to think differently.”

“Made in Italy and speed” are the words Samuel L. Jackson used to sum up what Ferrari means to him. “Speed is something that fascinates and excites me. It’s what I like best in the films I make, especially when I can escape my pursuers.”
