Jay Kay’s green LaFerrari was without a doubt the star of this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The social media has been awash with pictures and videos of this car, and we featured it rather heavily here on MW as well. But a lot of you had one question that was never answered until now: why green?

Before one of his laps around the Goodwood course, a reporter sat down with Jay and asked him that very question:

As it turned out, “making a statement” was the main motivation behind Jay Kay’s decision to get a green Laferrari, which is fair enough. After all, the car has cost him a million quid. It damn sure better make a statement!

Jay Kay, as you know, is a huge petrolhead and has a vast collection of mostly vintage cars. After acquiring this LaFerrari, though, he says he is going to slow down and cut back on his habit of collecting exotic cars. Wonder if there is a rehab facility for this type of addiction…
