Most rock stars are possessive and kind of selfish when it comes to their cars. Take Eric Clapton, for example. The guy has a couple of tailor-made Ferraris, but no one has ever seen them on the road. Jay Kay is not like that. He enjoys showing his cars to people and sharing his fun.
A few months ago Jay Kay took delivery of the world’s one and only green LaFerrari and immediately took it to the Goodwood Festival of Speed where it took part in both static and moving motor shows. Jay is now bringing his prized possession to another motor show, this time the Hyper Car Pavilion at 2014 Salon Prive.
Jay’s famous green LaFerrari will be the highlight of an incredibly rich lineup of hyper cars at Salon Prive, which also includes Koenigsegg One:1, McLaren P1, Pagani Huayra, and RUF CTR3 Clubsport. The man spent £1.2 million on this unique LaFezza, and apparently cut a deal with Ferrari so they won’t make another green example of this car, making Jay’s the only one ever:
“I’ve been watching this car and going down to the factory and chatted with Flavio Manzoni , the designer of the car, and Luca [de Montezemolo, Ferrari’s chairman] a few times. I remember about two years ago speaking to Luca about it and he said how it looked like a jet and they are still going through development. But the great thing about Ferrari is that every single thing on the car is doing something. It’s not for show.”
