Cadillac ATS, as you may know, was designed and developed with only was purpose: to beat the BMW 3-series and establish itself as the new benchmark in the sports sedan segment. It hasn’t managed to do that yet, but last year they’ve also made a coupe version of the ATS to rival BMW’s new 4 Series.
Now, that car will have a much harder time than the sedan facing its German adversary. The battle would be extremely fierce in the higher echelons where a V version of the ATS Coupe will take on the M version of the 4er. It could potentially be a turkey shoot for the Bimmer.
Designer X-Tomi has tried to envision what this Cadillac ATS-V Coupe may look like, and whether it could at least win some points for its looks. He’s done a fine job and the car looks very interesting, but the fact is, it is just not as hot as the M4.
Compared to the standard car, Cadillac ATS-V Coupe is lowered, fitted with bigger wheels, and given bespoke bumpers. Being a Caddy, the car gets a fair bit of chrome accents, but you can also spot some carbon fiber on the mirrors as well as the rood. Engine-wise, the ATS-V should get a beefed-up version of the firm’s brilliant twin-turbo V6 motor.
