Rolls-Royce Confirms New Open-Top Touring

British luxury car maker Rolls-Royce released an official statement today confirming the development of an all-new model. The mysterious new Roller is an “open-top touring” and that’s all the company is willing to reveal about it right now.

That said, with the 2014 Pebble Beach Auto Week just around corner, we might be getting a preview of some sort over the next few weeks. Still, it doesn’t take much imagination to envision what the new model would look like.

Rolls Royce says their forthcoming arrival will complement their existing range which includes Phantom, Ghost and Wraith. They already have an open-top Phantom, so this one must be a convertible version of the Ghost or the Wraith. The company’s chairman describes the car as “elegant and sensuous.”

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said, “I am truly delighted to confirm today the development of our new model which will open an exciting new chapter in the great story of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. We are currently developing an exciting and thoroughly contemporary interpretation of a pinnacle drophead tourer which will introduce even more discerning men and women to Rolls-Royce ownership.”
