Vencer Sarthe is a Dutch super car first revealed at last year’s Top Marques Monaco. A production version of the Sarthe has now been announced with over 100 improvements over the first prototype and you can now order yours for €270,882.
So should you choose the 2015 Vencer Sarthe over all the Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and McLarens that kind of money can buy you? If we’re honest, the only think Sarthe has going for it is exclusivity. They will only make one unit per month, so the chances of seeing one on the road are pretty slim.
Apart from that, there isn’t much about Vencer Sarthe one might find exciting enough to justify the price tag. Well, unless you find the fact that it is named after a race track impressive. The Sarthe doesn’t look particularly interesting, and as for the reliability and stuff like that, well, it’s a small and unknown firm, so you know, you have to take your chances!
Sarthe is powered by a 6.3L V8 with supercharger developing 622 bhp and 838 Nm (618 lb-ft) of torque, mounted on a steel tubular chassis and wrapped inside a carbon body. The fairly light weight of 1.3 tons and clever aerodynamics, including an active rear wing, makes the Sarthe pretty quick and exciting to drive.
