Thanks to some leaked configurator screenshots, we now get our very first look at the Ferrari 458 Speciale Spider, reportedly set for debut at the Paris Motor Show. The limited edition sports car completes the 458 lineup by combining the joys of alfresco motoring with the hard-core racing feel of the Speciale.
These grainy photos of the Ferrari 458 Speciale Spider, apparently taken from the car’s officla online configurator, are not perfect for judging the looks of the car. But as expected, changes are few in number, and mainly include brand-new stripes and new wheel designs. The rest of the Special Spider looks familiar, as we have seen it on the standard versions of the Special and the Spider.
Engine-wise, the car is expected to be identical to the normal Special, meaning you get a 600 horsepower 4.5 liter V8 engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch speed transmission, working in tandem with an electronic differential and a five-way racing traction control to give the car the performance of a full-blooded track car.
Full details and pictures of the Ferrari 458 Speciale Spider will be released over the next few days as we get closer to the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
