Just as the new Lexus RC and its high-performance variant RC F is celebrating its press launch all over the world, independent designer X-Tomi releases a rendering of the car’s yet to be confirmed convertible version. And it looks rather good.
The Japanese car maker is too busy now to even think about the Lexus RC F Convertible, but there is room in their future lineup for such a product. It certainly looks appealing enough in this unofficial rendering, but its fate depends on the performance of the hardtop version in the market.
The cope version of the RC F is priced considerably more than its main, deadly rival, the BMW M4. Granted, the Lexus has a V8 engine whereas the Bimmer gets a turbo-six. But that V8 is no guarantee that the RC F is a better driver’s car than the M4. And that makes life harder for the Japanese car.
In any case, if Lexus RC F Convertible ever gets produced, chances are it will get the same 5.0-litre V8 engine as the hardtop with 450bhp and 520Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
