McLaren revealed today their first “regionally tailored” model specifically designed for the Asian market in form of the 625C Coupe and Spider. Asia has been the biggest area of growth for McLaren in its very young life, so this is car is a thank you note from the car maker to the customers… and a way to milk them some more!

To be launched initially in Hong Kong, the McLaren 625C comes with the standard 3.8 liter V8 bi-turbo engine rated at 625 horsepower. That ‘C’ in the car’s name stands for ‘Club’, highlighting the technical differences between this model and the normal 650, which mainly concerns the chassis and suspension.

McLaren 625C features a bespoke chassis with a less stiff spring rate at the rear, ensuring a sharp response with no loss in ride comfort through the ProActive Chassis Control system in ‘Normal’ mode. The car is sharp as a blade in the less coveted ‘Sport’ and ‘Track’ modes.

Performance-wise, McLaren 625C accelerates zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.1 second and can reach a top speed of 333 km/h (Coupe). Prices and detailed specs are yet to be revealed, but expect a healthy premium over the normal models.
