During the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) Gala Fundraiser event a few days ago, three GM designer turned a Corvette Stingray into a “Performance Art Car” right on the stage. The car went on to raise nearly $400,000 for the event.

The “canvas” the young designer used to create their Corvette Stingray art car was an Arctic White hardtop. They seemed to be just randomly pouring paint on the car, but the end result was truly astonishing. Here’s a time-lapse video of the Stingray being painted:

Corvette Stingray Art Car was painted by three GM Design employees: Casey Swanseger, 30, a creative designer and graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art; Tyler Mars, 28, digital sculptor and a graduate of Detroit’s College for Creative Studies (CCS); Haneif Katebi, 25, creative designer, sculptor and a graduate of Detroit’s College for Creative Studies.
