A few weeks ago McLaren unveiled a new version of the 650S specifically for the Asian market, called the 625C. The car recently made its regional debut in Hong Kong in a rather glamorous ceremony, showcasing some of its exclusive details.
Judging by the name, McLaren 625C must be half the car the 650S is. But that is not the case here. In fact, the 625C comes with a revised chassis which some may find better than the original car. The 625 in the car’s name refers to the number of horsepower its engine makes, and the ‘C’ is for Club.
McLaren 625C has a sharper, stiffer chassis tuning that makes it nicer to drive in normal mode which is suitable for driving on the road. Visually, the car looks pretty much identical to the 650S, but then again, most cars ordered by McLaren’s Asian clients are bespoke in one or other, or fully specced-up by MSO. This particular car has a special gloss black front bumper which looks pretty cool.
Available in both coupe and spider body shapes, McLaren 625C is one of the fastest cars in its class, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds on its way to a top speed of over 330 km/h.
