Galpin Auto Sports Rocket 600x372 at L.A. Preview: Galpin Auto Sports Rocket

Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) is known to most people as a tuner and an exotic car dealership. But these guys have the talent and the facilities to design and build cars on their own, and every once in a while they like to give it a try. Meet Galpin Auto Sports Rocket, set for debut at the 2014 L.A. auto show.

Breaking out the big guns for this project, GAS teamed up with famous designer and entrepreneur Henrik Fisker and asked him to pen something special for Galpin Auto Sports Rocket. Now that his company’s gone bust, Fisker has a lot of time on his hand to work on projects like this.

We don’t know yet if he’s pulled it off or not, as the teaser sketch they have released is not revealing at all. But the car’s profile does resemble that of the Chevy Camaro, and since GAS says the Rocket is the “Ultimate American Muscle Car,” we reckon it’s a highly customized version of that car.

A car names Rocket should also be pretty fast. GAS hasn’t revealed details of the powertrain yet, but they have confirmed the body is made from lightweight carbon fiber. So it’s half there.
