Lexus has released a brighter, more revealing teaser picture of their new concept car for the Los Angeles Auto Show. The Lexus LF-C2 is a convertible, either an open-top version of the RC sports car or a convertible LF-LC.

Judging by what we can see in the Lexus LF-C2 teaser shot, the former scenario seems more likely. The front and rear overhangs are pretty much identical to the production RC, and the head and taillights also look familiar.

The golden concept also has flared wheel arches and more sexy curves on its doors, but tonneau seems a bit unsightly. Although, it is not really fair to judge a car by a darkened teaser image.

The upshot of all this is, The LF-C2 is most likely a near-production concept, previewing an RC convertible for launch in the near future. In today’s fast-paced industry, there is not time for car makers to dillydally around and take ages to decided whether or not they should make a concept. More is lost by indecision than bad decision.
