Gran Turismo 6 and Chevrolet released a video of the Chaparral Vision Gran Turismo virtual concept in action, highlighting the unique design cues of this wild and amazing creation. The footage marks the release of the Chevrolet Chaparral in GT6, available as part of the Vision GT category in Update 1.15.

Chevrolet Chaparral Vision Gran Turismo is definitely the craziest Vision GT concept designed for the video game. Most other car makers have already had a go, and while their efforts where often brilliant, none of them had the imagination to come up with something like this. Chevy designer figured this is a virtual concept and it has to work only in a virtual world, so why not go berserk.

It’s not just the design that boggles the mind. Chaparral Vision Gran Turismo also features  a mid-mounted laser beamed-energy propulsion system, which pulses beams of light that focus in a shroud, creating shock waves that generate 900 horsepower! They say this system gives a 0 to 60 mph time of 1.5 seconds.

“The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision GT serves as an example of what our designers are capable of when they are cut loose, no holds barred,” said Ed Welburn, vice president of GM Global Design. “It’s a fantasy car in every sense of the word.”
