At the 2015 Detroit Motor Show (NAIAS) Infiniti will unveil a brand-new concept previewing an upcoming production model. The Infiniti Q60 Concept is a production-intent prototype featuring an evolution of the brand’s new design language.
The design language in question is obsessively curvy and has lots of unnecessary twists and details, but it is, according to Infiniti, well-defined and muscular. That is just as well, because the Detroit-bound Infiniti Q60 is a sports coupe belonging to the premium class.
That is about as much information as the Japanese car maker is willing to reveal for now. There are no words on what sort of engines the concept and the production car that will follow it will have, but chances are they get variants of the existing power units from the Q50 sports sedan.
In describing theQ60 concept, Infiniti says: “Overall proportions and full-sized wheels placed out at the corners of Q60 Concept make an unmistakable design statement and add to the exhilaration of the performance coupe. This latest concept builds upon the design language seen on recent Infiniti concept cars, foreshadowing the strong visual consistency to be a key ingredient of products in the future Infiniti line-up.“
