Skoda released the first teaser shot of their new Superb luxury sedan in form of an official rendering of the car’s backside. Presumably, the rear-end view is the best side of the 2016 Skoda Superb, even though it looks as pointy and angular as ever.
Then again, that’s how Skoda’s always looked. They are always designed only with a ruler. Skoda, of course, sees it differently. They believe the simple and straight lines on their cars are “sophisticated, elegant, dynamic, discrete, modern and expressive.”
Inspired rather heavily by the VisionC Concept, the new Skoda Superb introduces a level of emotion and dynamism never seen before on cars from this Czech manufacturer. The car features slightly flared arches, large wheels and gently rearward-sloping roof line. It could almost, almost pass as a four-door coupe.
Technical details and official pictures are yet to be released some time before the car’s world premiere in Prague in the middle of February 2015. Official world debut will take place at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and the market launch in Europe is set for mid-2015 (autumn for the UK).
