Very rarely car makers agree so send the very finest cars they have launched in any given year to a single journalist for a Car of the Year group test. These tests matter, so they are usually joint efforts, and the results are decided by a committee of some sort. But when the journalist in question is Chris Harris, that’s a different story.

In order to choose his most favorite car launched in 2014, Chris Harris went to Portugal, hired a race track all to himself, and set about torturing lots of tires. This is a very long video, but one that is totally worth your time. We won’t spoil it for you by revealing the winner:
