First Look: Infiniti Q60 Concept

Infiniti Q60 Concept 600x365 at First Look: Infiniti Q60 Concept

So after a number of nicely composed teaser, Infiniti today revealed the first proper image of the new Q60 Concept, set for debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) later this month. The handsome Infiniti Q60 coupe will later on head into production as the successor to the G Coupe.

If you find the design of Infiniti Q60 Concept strangely familiar, that is because you have seen most of its styling cues before on the Q80 Inspiration concept and also the Q50 sports sedan. Infiniti themselves admit this, saying that doesn’t mean they have been lazy, but that they wanted to evoke “a sense of déjà vu.” After implementing a new nomenclature, the Japanese car maker is now unifying the looks of their cars as well.

Infiniti Q60 2+2 concept is indeed a looker, and what we like best about it is the fact that almost all the features of the concept are realistic enough to be carried over to the production model. The roof is low, but not outlandishly so, and the wheels are big for sure, but they are 21-inch in diameter which a common size these days. The Q60 could be successful contender for Infiniti in this segment if they give it some good engines and a competitive price tag.

“The Q80 Inspiration was an indication of Infiniti’s future design language,” said Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti Executive Design Director. “The Q60 Concept is the next step in the journey. The sweeping lines of the Q80 Inspiration gave the Q60 Concept its coupe silhouette and looks while the Formula One-inspired touches from the Q50 Eau Rouge endowed the coupe with its sports personality.”
