The latest special edition Rolls-Royce, rather surprisingly, is not destined for the Middle East. The Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe Nighthawk based on the magnificent Phantom Drophead Coupe is exclusively designed and appointed for the North American market.
That is probably why the car looks sort of un-Rolls-Royce-like! What we mean by that is Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe Nighthawk edition does not appear to have gotten as much attention as the British company puts in their Arabic special editions. While those cars get lavish paint jobs and magnificent interiors, the Nighthawk gets a plain black exterior, and an interior which frankly looks like the cabin of a Kia Forte Koup, what with those red accents on the dashboard and doors.
Another highlight of the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe Nighthawk that true aficionados may scoff at is the extensive use of carbon fiber trim pieces and accents all over the cabin – even on the steering wheel. Not that it’s not nice, but carbon fiber somehow does not look at home in a Roller, especially one as majestic and dignified as the Drophead. It kind of clashes with the teak decking at the back!
We probably should clarify that the black paint work on this car is not any old black, but Diamond Black Metallic, and the red leather is not a run of the mill red, but Hotspur Red, which is somehow better. The Nighthawk is limited to just 9 units.
