Independent designer X-Tomi likes to speculate about the every new model car makers introduce and he often looks deep into the future. This time he’s come up with a rendering of the, possibly, upcoming Acura NSX Type R, which is a more hard-core version of the yet-to-be-launched new NSX.

The new generation Honda/Acura NSX created a lot noise at this year’s Detroit Motor Show where it showed up in full production trim. This amazing-looking machine is powered by a super-intelligent hybrid system with a twin-turbo V6 engine, three electric motors, a 9-speed transmission, and Honda’s Super-All-Wheel-Drive system.

It is fair to say there isn’t much room for improvement in this setup, as it is pretty much perfect as it is. But Acura will most likely give it a go and will eventually come up with an Acura NSX Type R, the looks of which may be similar to what you see here. Clues to recognize it will include larger air intakes, sporty mesh grille, and a subtle aero kit.

Performance-wise, the Acura NSX Type R should get a beefed-up version of the same powertrain but with more power, probably with well over 600 horsepower.
