As we mentioned before, Hyundai has brought two freshly face-lifted models to the Chicago Auto Show. One is the Elantra GT we just looked at, the other a new 2016 Veloster. It is the hot Hyundai Veloster Rally Edition we are more interested in though – a hot hatch/coupe with many sporty features.
Before we check out the Hyundai Veloster Rally Edition proper, let’s review quickly some of the highlights of the new Veloster and Veloster Turbo. The both come with revised hood and front grille design, new wheel designs (17” on normal and 18” on Turbo models), 10mm wider track, and enhanced 7-inch touchscreen. The Turbo also gets a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and sport seats.
As for the Hyundai Veloster Rally Edition, what sets this model apart is all goodies fitted to the car’s chassis to make it a better driver’s car. Based on the Turbo R-Spec, the 200 horsepower Rally Edition comes with sportier spring, damper, and stabilizer bar tuning, 18-inch lightweight wheels, 225/40R18 performance all-season tires, B&M sport shifter, carbon-fiber-look aero accents, matte blue paint, and “Rally Edition” badges and floor mats. What’s more, All Turbo Velosters now get Torque Vectoring Control (TVC).
