With only a few days to go until we see the new Honda Civic Type R in all its glory at the Geneva Motor Show, the first pictures of the car emerge from independent sources who have stumbled upon an undisguised prototype. The Type R looks deliciously racy!
We won’t discuss the technical details of the 2016 Honda Civic Type R until we get the official details, but styling-wise, this is it. This is what the new Type R looks like, and while some may find it way too Samurai, there is no denying it is very sporty and fun. The gloss black inserts and the red detailing do a good job of spicing things up.
The new Type R comes with a massive aero kit consisting of, at the front, a splitter canards, flared wheel arches, side skirts, rear diffuser with pronounced fins and four huge tailpipes, and as per tradition, a massive roof spoiler which this time around has a unique wavy design as well.
Other highlights of Honda Civic Type R include active dampers, 19-inch glossy black alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, and a 280 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.
