Just like Range Rover who is trying to spice things up for the Vogue edition with the launch of the SVAutobiography, Porsche announced the launch of a new special version of the Panamera at NYIAS to keep the sales afloat. The 2016 Porsche Panamera Edition, as it’s called, is the most stylish member of its family.
That is like saying Kim is the most stylish member of the Kardashian family. That doesn’t mean she’s beautiful. It just means she is less of an eyesore than the rest of those idiots. In the same way, Porsche Panamera Edition is garnished with some extras that make it a more desirable car than its siblings.
Before we tell you about those extras, though, we should point out the 2016 Porsche Panamera Edition comes only in 310 PS V6 flavor. So if power and performance is what you’re looking for, well, look elsewhere. You do get four-wheel-drive option though, and something called map-controlled multi-plate clutch.
As for that extra garnish, Porsche Panamera Edition gets high-gloss black trim strips on the side windows, 19-inch alloy wheels in Panamera Turbo II design, two-tone standard interior in Black / Luxor Beige with the Porsche crest embossed on all head rests, Sport Design steering wheel, door sill plates with “Edition” lettering, and special floor mats.
In terms of equipment, you get Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with a seven-inch touchscreen, 585 watt Bose Surround Sound System with 14 speaker, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Bi-Xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), Park Assist front and rear including reversing camera and Power Steering Plus.
Pricing starts from $80,000 for the Panamera Edition and $84,300 for the Panamera 4 Edition, excluding a $995 destination charge.
