After making its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show amid much fanfare, the new Porsche 991 GT3 RS is now gearing up for market launch later this year. The Geneva debut showcased the car’s looks and specs, now it’s time to see it in action and learn more about what it’s capable of.

For that Porsche took the RS to Nardo and made this rather awesome promotional film. Granted, Nardo is all about top speed while GT3 RS’ forte is cornering and delivering bucket loads of driving fun. But still, it looks impressive flexing its muscle:

Porsche 991 GT3 RS is powered by a 4.0 liter flat-six engine sending 500 horsepower to the rear wheels via a 7-speed PDK transmission. One might argue the RS is way too similar in specs to the regular GT3 to command a $175,000 price tag, but you have take into account the RS version is better suited for track work thanks to its lighter weight, less fussy cabin, and of course, that massive aero kit complete with an RSR-style rear wing. It’s a rather special thing, this car.
