McLaren is currently in the midst of an elaborate teasing campaign for the new Sports Series models, allegedly called the McLaren 570S. Set to be revealed later this year, the car has now been rendered based on the latest spyshots and teasers available.
Designer Wild-Speed put together what he could discern from the spy photographs of the car which confirmed the shape of McLaren 570S taillights, and mixed it up with the styling elements revealed by McLaren in their latest teaser. A bit of touch up here and there using mostly his own creative imagination, and voila, here’s the first picture of the McLaren Sports Series.
Size-wise, and performance-wise as well, McLaren 570S is a rival for the Porsche 911 Turbo and, to some extent, Ferrari California T. It gets the only engine McLaren has, which is a twin-turbo 3.8 liter V8, tuned at around 570 horsepower in this model. Carbon monocoque and body panels, minimalistic interior, computer controlled suspension, and active aerodynamics are among the other features the new sports car shares with its super car brother, the 12C and 650S.
More variants of the McLaren 570S, including a Spider version and a Grand Tourer apparently, will follow the coupe in a year or so.
