Following this rather interesting teaser, Touring Superleggera has now released the first official images of their Geneva-bound model, the Berlinetta Lusso. As promised in the teaser, the car is based on a Ferrari and it features a hand-built bespoke body.
The Ferrari model chosen for the new Touring Superleggera Berlinetta Lusso is the F12 Berlinetta. Ferrari themselves have built a couple of one-offs based on the F12. It appears to boast quite a flexible platform which makes it suitable for such treatment.
The Touring Superleggera Berlinetta Lusso comes with a custom body inspired, subtly, by old Ferrari models, featuring a large front grille, revised head and tail lights, and completely re-done rear window and hatch. Not sure about pretty, but the Lusso sure is unique and artistic.
The body is hand beaten by Touring’s craftsmen using sheets of aluminum. It’s a hard and time consuming job, which is probably why they haven’t done much to the interior and the powertrain. The Lusso, we’re afraid, doesn’t hold a candle to Touring’s last creation, the mesmerizingly awesome Disco Volante.
