Following the launch of Fiat 500 1957 Edition hardtop last year, the Italian car maker is now releasing the open-top 500C version of the limited edition model in America. This version adds the thrill of alfresco motoring to the car’s vintage looks and long list of features to create a nice and well-rounded package.
Starting from $24,700, the 2015 Fiat 500 1957 Edition Cabrio comes with the same sort of visual features that made the hardtop so popular, including three classic exterior colors, 1957-era body-color wheel design and vintage “FIAT” emblems – a tribute to the historic Fiat Nuova 500.
And of course you get the premium dual-layer power-operated cloth top designed to look somewhat like the famous canvas roof on the original Cinquecento. This roof can be opened like a sunroof while on the move up to 60 mph, or all the way down behind the rear head restraints (up to 50 mph).
The standard powertrain in the Fiat 500 !957 Edition consists of a 1.4-liter MultiAir engine and a C514 five-speed manual transmission, but you can order an automatic. It also comes with sport-tuned suspension, 16-inch forged aluminum wheels with a retro body-color design in Bianco (white), Verde Chiaro (light green) and exclusive Celeste (celestial blue).
