These are the very first real-world pictures of the all-new 2016 Camaro SS we get to see prior to the car’s market release later this year. This bright yellow example does a good job of showcasing the design elements of the new Camaro and the exclusive features of the SS model.

2016 Camaro SS is a pretty significant car – not because of its design, of course, as it looks pretty much like the old one – but because it boasts a 6.2-litre V8 engine with 455 horsepower. That makes this car more powerful than the new Mustang GT.

The SS also comes with advanced Magnetic Ride suspension, Brembo brakes, and a drive mode selector with a special track mode. For once the Camaro seems to be properly equipped to beat the Mustang at its own game.

In fact the only thing letting the 2016 Camaro SS down a bit is the looks. They are not bad, but surely GM could have spent a bit more time and money on it, making it more different from the car it is supposed to replace. As it is, the new Camaro already looks kind of dated.
