McLaren Special Operations division has already released a great number of bespoke P1s with interesting options and paint jobs. But this particular McLaren P1 MSO is the first one to feature exposed carbon fibre body sides, which makes it the first proper two-tone version.
Of course, almost all P1s released comes with two-tone paint work as they have carbon fiber doors and roofs and aero parts. But the rest of the panels are usually painted uniformly in the color of customer’s choice. With this McLaren P1 MSO the owner wanted the sills to be finished in exposed carbon as well, giving the car a very unique look.
MSO being MSO, however, they couldn’t just leave it at that and gave the Volcanic Orange an orange tint over chrome finish as well to make the whole thing shine brighter. Due to its nature as an ultra-high-performance hyper car, there is only so much you can do to a McLaren P1 to alter its looks without compromising its aerodynamics and weight distribution. With little changes like playing with the colors, one can at least set his or her P1 apart from and make it even more conspicuous.
