Although the new Acura NSX is still a long way off from launching as a hardtop coupe, there are already speculations as to what it may look like as a convertible/roadster/targa/spider or whatever it’s called. Here’s the latest rendering which we like to call Acura NSX Spider.
This open-top NSX is clearly not a full-blooded roadster. Well, it is a roadster in the same way that Lamborghini Aventador Roadster is a Roadster. It just comes with a removable top that you can stow away in the boot or somewhere. Still, it looks pretty good, and we suppose it provides enough “air” for a satisfying alfresco motoring experience.
The Acura NSX Spider you see here is a handsome car because the base car boasts such a fantastic design. It is very flexible in terms of body style. In fact we bet that it won’t be long before we see a Shooting Brake, maybe even a wagon version of the NSX. These will keep us amused while the car gears up for launch.
They have built a huge amount of hype for the new Acura NSX, so it better live up to the expectations. On paper, it’s all good. The car features a super clever hybrid with a twin-turbo V6 at its heart and it has four-wheel-drive. But you never know. We can’t wait to see it in action.
