You knew this would happen. Days after Ferrari took the wraps off the new 488 Spider, independent designers have broke out their Photoshops and, showing remarkable foresight, upgraded it to something greater. This is X-Tomi’s vision of Ferrari 488 Spider Speciale.

We know for a fact that there is a new Ferrari Speciale coming this fall, but it’s not based on the 488. It’s the amazing Ferrari F12 Speciale which is set for debut at 2015 IAA, and its arrival means there won’t be a new Speciale on the horizon for the next two years. But eventually you will get a Ferrari 488 Spider Speciale and chances are it’ll look very similar to what you see here.

Of course, we are yet to see the 488 GTB Speciale Coupe and it might be too soon to start speculating on other variants of the car. But Ferrari has been fairly predictable with their design and model range recently and it is a safe bet to say that the changes featured in this rendering are the exact same elements of style you’ll find on the real thing. Ferrari 488 Spider Speciale will indeed get revised bumpers and more prominent aero parts, and it will feature that all-important stripe.

We are far more keen to see what kind of power output Ferrari has in mind for the Speciale version of the 488 family. We reckon it’ll be something in the neighborhood of 700 PS.
